We left the easternmost point of our long research trip in a driving rain that let up enough, as we approached Hubbardton, to allow us to tour the battlefield there, where the rear guard of St. Clair’s retreating army delayed the British and Germans long enough for the main army to escape to fight again.

After a tour of the soggy battlefield, we continued on to Lake George where Robert had reserved space on the Minnie Ha Ha, a steamship tour of the lake. Robert was highly interested in the surrounding architecture and enjoyed the slow relaxing ride and the glass of wine. Akalena hijacked Robert’s Instagram account and posted her version of the trip.
